We veered far from this tourist track for which we are forever grateful: swimming, surrounded by curious Duskies; summiting ( and surviving ) a scenic hike to the breathtaking Angelus hut; swimming off remote beaches in Marborough Sounds with Shaun and his rooster tail in toe; Biking with Blair along the ridge of the Queen Charlotte Track and through lavender and sheep farms; sailing on a yacht in the turquoise waters of Abel Tasman – and more swimming of course; outrageous and serene accommodations that are beyond 5 stars in a class of their own; exquisite cuisine made by our own Blair and Shaun’s family; and humor and kindness at every turn. "Shaun and Blair brought us to the local spots we did not know about. The whole experience was so personal and close, it was hard to say bye at the end. Loved that all the accommodations were unique, food local and the activities (adventures) so varied and fun. We always felt watched over by these two, either hiking, sailing or making sure Carol got her wine glass ready for sunset at the veranda ;).
